Enterprise with Young People: I'm passionate about 'Backing Young Britain' and have become a champion for youth enterprise. I work with a number of organisations such as Young Chamber of Commerce, Connexions, National Apprenticeships, UK Youth, The Prince's Trust, Flyingstart, Enterprise Village, Young Enterprise and Enterprise UK.
I work with young people in a number of ways: motivational speaking, workshops, business master classes, run events, set challenges, CVs and interview skills.
I hope to inspire and motivate students with my story. I have a non business background and hopefully show that with hard work, drive and the right attitude anything is possible!
Programmes like The Apprentice and Dragon's Den have made business and enterprise much more accessible, and exciting, to young people and hopefully removed some of the common misconceptions - for example all business people are not grey old men in pinstripe suits! Enterprise is open to everyone and anyone; I now do events with classes as young as 4 year olds. It’s all about teaching a mindset and culturally embedding business values into our next generation.
